James Francesconi, MD, is a general neurologist treating patients around the Southlake, Texas, area at The Center for Neurology and Neurophysiology, PA.
Dr. Francesconi comes to the center with years of in-patient care. He grew up in New Jersey, but was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He later received his Bachelors of Arts degree in philosophy from Northern Arizona University. He joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston where he cared for patients as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. In the Army, he was deployed to Camp Doha, Kuwait and received the United States Army Commendation Medal for medical service, during Operation Enduring Freedom. He went on to attend medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies.

After earning his medical degree, Dr. Francesconi completed his residency in adult general neurology at the University of Medical and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey.
In addition to working as a clinician, Dr. Francesconi practiced as a neuro-hospitalist managing and treating patients with acute neurological conditions to including, but not limited to, stroke, seizures, altered mental status, and demyelinating processes.
He is board eligible in neurology and he plans to sit for the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry in 2022.
Dr. Francesconi is extremely passionate about treating patients with neurological disorders, compassionately providing individualized treatment plans. Dr. Francesconi specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of headaches, post-stroke disorders, epilepsy, tremors, and dementia.
Outside of work, Dr. Francesconi loves spending time with his two children, surfing, motocross racing, and practicing the art of bonsai.
